NYFW 2018

Hi friends!

As promised, here is a wrap up of a few of my top trends from NYFW 2018!

I hope you enjoy!

1. Coordinated / Monochromatic Suits

These were EVERYWHERE. Even collections with big patterns and crazy colors still had a monochromatic suit.

I mean Cinq a Sept’s collection was photographed on the beach and on colorful streets and they still managed to cohesively include a monochromatic althlesure-esque suit set. (Yeah it’s metallic but still…all one color)

And VFiles put on an INSANE show with colors and volume and still included a few monochromatic suits.

There were also coordinated suits that matched with almost any other trend in this post.

2. Chrome and Metallic

Sparkles and sequins and flowing silk are always a part of Fashion Week because they catch your attention, they look great on a carpet and they’ve always been on trend in one way or another. But this season re-introuduced a lot of chrome and dramatic metallics.

Rodarte NAILED it with the chrome. The structure and shimmer and the hair and makeup pairings were amazing.

Get ready for this to be EVERYWHERE. We’re already seeing a lot of celebs in neon and chrome so it’s safe to say it will be available everywhere very soon.

3. Plaid and Gingham

People have been wearing these patterns FOREVER. But this season brought us a fun new twist on the classic. Flannel duster coats from Jeremy Scott, A coordinated gingham suit from Novis and a Metallic and fringe outfit from Sally La Pointe.

Derek Lam

And of course…a coordinated suit from Derek Lam that is the kind of outfit I dream about.

4. Fringe

The fringe this season was the stuff of dreams. Very classic, thin fringe was all over the place, gowns, tops, jackets, even on some shoes!

My favorite was this Tom Ford look that I’ve been calling “structured fringe.” The way that it’s draped and the mixed materials…UGH…I just love it.

Alright, that’s the wrap up for New York! See you all in London!

xoxo Sally
