On social media, there are probably thousands and thousands of fitness and exercise pages. And out of all of those, there are very few that are for the average person and don’t involve a strict diet and a 7 day workout plan. Okay that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it can still be a major challenge to find some fitness inspiration that matches with your individual goals/ideas.
Exercising doesn’t mean going on a 3 mile run and lift weights at the gym for 2 hours everyday. And since I haven’t seen this anywhere else in my search for fitness tips and diet tricks, I am here to tell you that exercising is different for everyone. Especially since not everyone is starting out a the healthiest or fittest person on the planet. What works for me is different from my best friend, who is different from my mom, who is different from her best friend etc etc etc.
When I first made the decision to be a healthier person, I started with small changes. I took the stairs instead of the elevator, I asked to walk my parents dog a few times a week, I walked to get lunch and got a salad instead of a cheeseburger. Small things that didn’t really have an impact on how I lived my life. And I noticed a change very quickly. I didn’t get winded going up and down too many stairs and I had more energy.
Now, I personally try to do at least 20 minutes of cardio everyday. But that can be done on a treadmill or it can be walking the dog or on a bike or sometimes I know that I’ll be on my feet at work all day so I skip cardio at the gym. If I have time, I add some weight training on top of my cardio, but that changes day to day as well. It’s all about what works for YOU.
You don’t have to have to be a fitness guru to exercise, you just need to find a plan that works for you!
Until next time my fitness friends,
xoxo Sally
